House System

To inspire a healthy sense of competition, students of Delhi World Public School, Noida Extension have been divided into four houses which have been named after the sacred rivers of our country symbolize the country’s wealth and asset. Each House will be guided by a House Mistress and lead by a House Captain. It is mandatory for every student to be a member of a house.

Brahmaputra

The first House is Brahmaputra, an important river used for irrigation, hydroelectricity generation and transportation. Brahmaputra River is related to the God of creation, Brahma and is very sacred to Hindus.

Kaveri

The second house is Kaveri, a sacred river of Southern India. The river is known for its scenery and sanctity and its entire course is considered holy ground.

Narmada

The third house is Narmada, undoubtedly is India’s most breathtakingly beautiful river. It is believed that the river Narmada descended from the sky as by the command of Lord Shiva. The river is considered the mother and giver of peace.

Yamuna

The fourth house is Yamuna, one of the Lifeline rivers of India. It is considered sacred as Sri Krishna played and gargled into this river.   Through the House System the students will be made aware of four holy rivers of India and will also develop a sense of belonging, working as a team, benefits of good behavior, self-reliance, mutual understanding and a feeling of unity in being a part of a specific house. The house system and house competitions build community spirit and help students integrate into a healthy school life through peer interaction and affectionate bonding.
